Expectations of a Man
Men are also seen as dominant figures in society and in a relationship are expected to act like it. Men are expected to have the authority and be in command, these views have changed during the past few years as women fought to have the right and fought to not be the submissive woman seen in this image. Yet this is the image men still idolise or presented as a form of how they should act and look like it is as someone said “The ‘male social norm’ in terms of attitude and behaviour”
The male social norm. What does that mean? It is the norm we are presented and society expects of us, men are expected to always be strong and in charge and like someone I questioned said “some people think a man needs to be masculine and without are something different”
The something different is called emotions, real emotions, real tears that we all have and often use but when men express these emotions they are sometimes called gay. Because in today’s society being gay is considered the same as being feminine.
